A tale of endurance
August 1914. Sir Earnest Shackleton and his crew set sail from Plymouth, England aboard the HMS Endurance with one goal, to be the first team to cross the Antarctic continent. With the golden age of exploration coming to an end and war looming over Europe, this is his last chance to attempt the crossing. Physical storytelling, object manipulation and choral singing combine to tell the greatest survival story of the 20th century. This is a playful and imaginative show that explores the power and resilience of the human spirit.
Artistic Director Luke Clarke has been developing this stage production into an educational show. This fast and informative show will see young audience members camp out on the ice with the crew, tackle a trek through a blizzard and escape a sinking ship. All is performed using simple props and an enormous white cloth.
